Peter, i have just been looking through some old papers and have found a copy of a letter which states that Richard was born in barbados, i know you were unable to say where he was born on the census but could it say Barbados please?? Abbie.....Thank you
Just had a look on the 1841 for Birkenhead and found Richard, Eleanor and two households away another Sylvester Clarke! a possible brother for Richard ?
1841 HO107-126-06-Page 23 Chester Road Birkenhead
Richard Clarke 25 marineer not born in county X Eleanor ~ 20 born in county Sarah ~ 3 months born in county
Sylvester Clarke 20 marineer not born in county X
The X in this case I think denotes they were both born out of England
Thank you Peter, it would seem plausible for him to be a brother as the name has carried on down the family for several generations........ Thank you very much Peter for your help......Abbie x
