can anyone tell me if there is such a thing as "national service" records? my dad joined up in the late 50's but was continuously sent home due to medical reasons, and wondered if there might be records available.

Yes there are National Service Records, both Regimental and Medical.

When your Father was discharged he would have been issued with his Army Book 111 (Certificate of National Service)
