SCRIMGEOUR
« on: Thursday 09 August 07 21:05 UTC (UK) »

I am hoping to get to pre 1800 and a Margaret Scrimgeour.
She married Charles Johnston  - Edinburgh 1801.

I am  logging all Scrimgeour as I find them so any families welcome.

Also looking for a William b c 1857 Perthshire.  Parents Donald S & Jean Duff.

Thanks
Tricia

Hi Tricia

I had a look at the 1861 Census for Scotland for you and it looks like this may be your William Scrimgeour and Family

Address: Pittochry & Moulin Rd

also....

If you look up the Commonwealth Graves Commission site.. www.cwgc.org

there are quite a few SCRIMGEOURS listed there from Perth, who died during the Great War !!

These brave men, may belong to your family.

Hi BeeMack
Thanks for your help - yes 2nd family in  25 Kirkgate, Perth  fits the data I have.

William(son of Donald S and Jean Duff) b 1857 married 1895 Grace Johnston in Dunoon, Argyll.

Grace is my relation but she also has Scrimgeour ancestrors  from Perthshire to Dunoon.

Hoping I can find that William is part of same family.

I am away to look at wargraves site now.
Regards
Tricia
