John See/Seakins/Seeking/Lee b. abt 1777 Woodhurst

IGI shows a William Sea/Seeking m. Jane Earl 23 OCT 1768 at Woodhurst. Would like verification. And for a check to see if John is baptised there and if these are his parents. And if other children are here as well I would like their details.

Hunts Marriage Index has a marriage in Woodhurst, which was in the county of Huntingdonshire, in 1768 between Jane EARL and William SEAKENS, both otp, so the member submission on the IGI looks genuine.

Woodhurst parish register hasn't been filmed by the LDS, so isn't extracted onto the IGI or BVRI, nor is a transcript available from Hunts FHS. The only place, so far as I am aware, that the register is accessible is Huntingdon Records Office, who run a good research service for those who can't get to Huntingdon.

thanks again for your help and input.

I get confused with where these parishes are with the border so close. I thought it was in Hunts but then when I did the google map search I got confused as it's close to the district of Cambridge or something :-)

I think it was always in Hunts, until the local government reorganisation of 1974 when Huntingdonshire was absorbed into Cambridgeshire. Modern maps show it as being in Cambs as there is now no county of Hunts.
