Who was Prudence?

My GGGG Grandfather was Cornelius Welsh born August 1768, in Townhope Fawley.
His father was James Welsh, and mother Prudence. I am unable to find out any further details for Prudence including her maiden name! I am wondering if anyone has any other info / suggestions where i get any  further info for her!
I dont have a date of birth for James or Prudence but would guess it to be about 1735?

Firstly, well done on getting back so far!  So many of my lines have faltered around the 1800s that I am always slightly envious when I see dates starting with 17  Wink

What info do you already have on Cornelius?  For example where was he born?  Just seen that you have written where he was born  Roll Eyes Doh!And have you checked the original parish records for other births which may give some indication as to maiden name of Prudence and perhaps when they married.

Hi there!
LDS records seem to show he was born in Townhope Fawley, with a christening on 7 Aug 1768.
He married Ann Alleway in 1793 and they went on to have 10 children.
He died in 1826.
I know he had at least 6 siblings.
His father James dies in 1804, and have a listing for burial at St Mary Ross on Wye. Not sure where i got that from. Most of the research i have done is via LDS records

John and Prudence Welch seem to have had at least one other son - John baptised 3 May 1772 according to another IGI extracted record.

I wonder how common the name Prudence was?  There was a James Welsh born in 1750 in Hope Mansell to James and Prudence (according to the IGI).  Coincidence?
