Hello Forum
I have found that there could be (so far) as many of 15 to 25 burials for my Namesake (Searing) located within the confides of St.Mary the virgin in Cheshunt from data based on the NBI but how would I be able to find plot numbers and/or plan of how St.Mary's church yard is laid out.
would any such information be held within the church records or would it be stored at HERTFORD (HARS) I would be interested to visit the Church and locate any burials associated with me and my family.
With there many many of my relatives who lived and died in Cheshunt I would have thought that a plot within the churchyard may have been used as apposed to scattered locations.
what thoughts please.

Hi Paul
The Hertfordshire Family History Society have produced a number of booklets containing Memorial Inscriptions from many Hertfordshire Cemeteries. St Mary's Cheshunt has been transcribed. I do not own this particular volume, but I do own several others and they all contain detailed maps showing the locations of all the graves. I would have thought that it would be well worth purchasing the BS volume in case it is similarly laid out.

It seems that if you want to order online then you now have to go to GenFair.

Just a thought, but if your rellies didn't have an MI then they won't be listed in the booklet. You would then probably have to contact HALS to see if they have the burial plot information for the parish.

Just done a on line order (yep by myself not the wife) using my card
and Britgen have confirmed it, bit of a milestone for me never done any online ordering on my own (big boy now)

Good for you! Be careful though, once you start ordering online you might get the bug! 
If your rellies aren't showing up in the booklet, then it may be that they didn't have an MI or their MIs were not legible when the MIs were transcribed.

It would be interesting to see if any rellies are listed
I know that there are many interred in the churchyard find where any plots are would be the icing on the cake for me after many years of searching and re-searching not least I could not have done it without Rootschat.
I had joined findmypast and paid full subscription of £89.95 but very disappointed with the results.
Thank goodness for rootschat
as for getting the bug
I dought it but hey who knows

I am plaining to visit over a few day Cheshunt and Hertford(Shire) and able to put together a good productive visit to put meat on the bones after so many years
would be a thrill (oh I am sad) and achievement as well as a personal goal.

Gutted or what 
I sent for and just got Hertfordshire Monumental inscriptions for the Parish Church of St.Mary the virgin in Cheshunt as I know that many of my late relatives had been interred there
Well
Having checked the said receive book there are NO (apart from a couple by Gerish) monumental inscriptions,
I have in front of me a list of 25 Searing's who I NO know to be buried in the Church yard CIRCA 1800 to when the church yard was closed for burials.
So
Am I missing something or am I just unlucky talk about disappointed so where can I go a phisically trawl the documents that will show the location of a long lost relative?
I can understand if there was only one buried there but 25 come on there must be something hidden away
at this rate I'm going to get a shovel and do-it-yourself DNA test
I'm determin to have reason to carry on.

I did intimate that if your ancestors didn't have a MI or if their MIs had weathered to a point where they could not be easily read that they would not appear in the volume. 
Anothe possibility might be that the burial services was held in the church (hence the NBI entries) but they were actually buried elsewhere.
So sorry that you are disappointed.

I would guess that this would be the case and inscriptions being unreadable but how strange that out of all them listed not one would be visible.
I guess I could ping and Email to the church and ask if they have any information at least for burial plots.
