Hi All

Going back through some old notes I made about 20 years ago, I realized that there was a branch of the family in Worcestershire during the 1600's

They seemed to be getting married and baptised in Pirton during the mid to late 1600's through to the early 1700's.

Can anyone tell me if these early records have been transcribed and are they on line other than the few that are on the IGI site.

Thanks

Hi Chris,
It doesn't look as if they are, Chris Sad
I thought I'd struck gold with an amazing site (have a look) for Pirton - but then saw it was Pirton, Hertfordshire Cry
This tells where Pirton, Worcestershire, registers are held, and might help if nothing else turns, Chris:
http://www.worcesterbmsgh.co.uk/Pirton.html

Hope it does help.

P.S. Any news on the photo album? I hope your sister is doing ok - and yourself, too Smiley

Hi Chris,

Adding to Pauline's comments.  Don't forget the National Burial Index, or the Worcestershire section  - BMSGH  http://www.bmsgh.org/search/Wo_burial_index.html for a small fee.  Pirton from 1606.

Then there's the Worcestershire Marriage Index, from 1660  http://www.bmsgh.org/search/Wo_marr_index.html  Members get a 25% discount off both searches.

Failing, or in addition to, that you could go to  your local LDS centre and hire in the register films.

Good luck

Hi Paulene & Mike

Thanks for that info, appreciate it muchly.

This is possibly a part of the family (as yet not connected with my present family/research) that seemed to be doing well in Worcestershire and Oxfordshire in the 1600's and I thought it was about time I researched it.

Thank you both for your imput - I now have somewhere to start.

Paulene - Big Sis is home and progressing nicely, they are trying to find her a flat so that she can sell her house and live all on one floor - she is not very keen on the idea, but she realizes it must be more practical for her.
Sorry, got no further with that collection of Pics/Album etc.
