Advice - GREIG/DIXON/OWEN
« on: Sunday 29 March 09 20:31 UTC (UK) »

James Greig (b1852 Earlston) m Ann Dixon in Carlisle 1875.
I am trying to find the death record for James Greig who was living in Carlisle 1891 (census) but deceased by 1901 (Marriage record for one of his children). Ann died in Carlisle 1892.
I have a death record for James Gregg (1898) who was a Stonemason like my James! However, he was 42 suggesting his birth year was 1856. Also, his address is given as Princess Street, Carlisle which is an address not previously associated with my James!
The death was registered by Beeby Owens his Brother-in-Law. Beeby Owens married Mary Jane Brown in Carlisle 1896. Both James Greig and Ann Dixon had sisters called Mary Jane...but Mary Jane Brown is a spinster.
Should I looking for another death record or interpret what I have differently?
Thanks
Jim
