Can anyone help me with a query I have regarding Robins Close, Broadstone

I have an illegitimate child born in 1933 at the workhouse in Dorchester and I believe her mother abandoned her.
In 1948 as a scholar she was sent to Australia and her UK address was shown as Robins Close, Broadstone

Were there any orphanages at that address? The address does not seem to exist now if I try and find it using google

I cannot use any names as the person involved may still be living

Thanks

Hi,

Found this on the Broadstone page of www.opcdorset.com  from the 1939 Kelly's:

Edward Coleman       Robin's Close        listed as a resident but no street name given.

At that time the area was very rural with many large late Victorian/early Edwardian houses where there would probably have been a few live-in domestics.

The directory is alphabetical so I can't guess as to where the house might have been  (I lived in Broadstone for many years).

Perhaps the Broadstone library could help?

If you can locate the house and it is still standing (many have been demolished) and would like a photo just let me know.
