Me, aged 4, just starting out on The Dusty Trail

Just a quick Thank-You
« on: Friday 18 February 05 00:18 UTC (UK) »

Hi

A little over three months ago, I decided to undertake the study of my family tree. After a few fairly fruitless weeks ambling around on the internet and finding nothing much of any use, apart from the LDS site, I stumbled across this site.

The people here have been amazingly friendly and helpful, offering information, advice and encouragement without hesitation.

Thanks to you, I have extended the knowledge of my family background in all parts of the tree, and in one part have managed to trace my lineage all the way back to the early 1600s, and a chap by the name of Thomas Cheale in West Hoathly.

I couldn't have imagined that it would be so interesting to hunt high and low for a snippet of info, which linked somehow to another, and to be able to build up a picture of the lives of my ancestors from nearly 400 years ago.

I have now got a lot of work to do to fill out all the branches of my tree, some of which are looking decidedly sparcely foliated, but the basic shape is firmly established. Some pruning will inevitably need to be done as new information is found, but I know that if I need any help, this is the place to ask

I just thought that it was about time I said a very big, heartfelt thankyou to all the kind people at this site, without whom I would have been totally bemused and baffled by this whole genealogy caper.

Many thanks for all the help so far, and long may it continue.

Hi Kitmiaz,

We are all so very pleased to hear how well you are doing with your research.

The best reward for us all is to hear if it was of help, the right family and to hear how you have progressed.

Thank you for taking the time to say to let us know how you have gone on  Grin
