Does anyone know where I can get MI booklets, etc, for Cumbernauld or Condorrat?

Hi Hume,

I got the Cumbernauld Parish Churchyard MI's from the Lanarkshire Family History Society

The Glasgow & West of Scotland Family History Society also has the MI's for Dunbartonshire  which includes Cumbernauld and so does The Scottish Genealogy Society

Hi Anne,

I'm looking for a Thomas M[a]cFarlan[e] (possibly with a "d" at the end too! Grin) or any of that family in general. Thomas was part of the Radical war (mentioned in a recent thread by yourself) and returned to Scotland after being transported. Even though the family look to be relatively poor and "basic", I had hoped he would have a small marker at his grave. His wife was Elisabeth Baird and perhaps died before 1819 or so.

All the stones in the Churchyard were re-laid in rows and it wouldn't take long to have a look as it's a tiny wee place.

Hi hume,

Finally got around to visiting Cumbernauld Village this morning and although I found a couple of McFarlane stones, none of them were for Thomas. I haven't transcribed photos I took yet but will do in the next couple of days. Do you want a note of the other McFarlane's?

I have a 'contact' in Cumbernauld who's sent me copies of a couple of pages from the Burial Register containing the entries for Thomas & his wife's death.

Will send these to your personal e-mail.
