Hmm. I looked at that site, briefly, and it doesnt seem to be one from which you can obtain answers.

Try http://home.global.co.za/~mercon/index.htm

The following are a few of the other websites and links I used to research in SA.
I havent checked them recently so links might not work but its all info!

This web Page will be very helpful

Hi slightlyfoxed

You post many helpful links to aid research in SA, thank you.

For a couple of months now, I've posted asking for any details on how to contact the Head Office of the Baptist Church, or archives for same in South Africa?

I'm wishing to trace my relative's progress as a Baptist Minister, during the first half of the last century, but so far, no replies as to how to contact the Baptist Church in SA?

Or, would you have a suggestion as to how I can find out?

Cheers

Danchaslyn

I contacted the Baptist Church in question, by email, but that was in UK.

There is - http://www.baptist.org.uk/ which I Googled.

I dont know about SA Baptists.

Maybe you could ask Conrod Mercer, his home page is
 http://home.global.co.za/~mercon/conrod.htm

or South African Genealogy at http://home.global.co.za/~mercon/index.htm

I think that many of these early ministers were missionaries so Id start with the Baptists in UK!
Good luck

Hello slightlyfoxed

Thank you  SO  much..............those three links will be of great help to me.

I have diabolical Internet connectivity here, BT Engineer visited this am, not much hope of an improvement, in fact, worse than usual, took half an hour to get to the stage where I could read your post and a further half an hour, to have an enjoyable read of Conrod's site, couldn't get into his email.......

Please would you be kind enough to PM me his email address?

Also, got half way into the UK Baptists site, then gave up, so as to reply to you.

I'm so keen on continuing the search for my ancestry and won't let this internet prob deter me.....

Thanks again
