Daniel Robinson marriage
« on: Tuesday 31 March 09 23:33 UTC (UK) »

Hello there,

I have had no luck in tracking down the marriage of Daniel Robinson (b. abt. 1799 Nottingham) and Martha Elizabeth ? (born abt. 1809 St. Lukes, London). Their first child Emma Amelia Robinson was born abt. 1835, St. Marys, Nottingham.

I can't find anything on LDS,  I am presuming they were married in Notts.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Sue

Goodness me Ruskie,

I'm bowled over by the speed of your reply.

Thank-you very much, this looks like it could be the one. I was obviously searching in the wrong area.

All the best, and thanks again,
Sue

That's OK Sue. I couldn't see a birth for daughter Emma Amelia except for a submitted approximation 1835.

Do you have the family in any censuses?

There are a couple of Blackwell families christening children in St Lukes Old Street around the same time.

These look like they might be siblings to Martha Elizabeth - all extracted records, all chr St Lukes with same parents:

Elizabeth Sarah b 14 Jan 1808, chr 14 Feb 1808, d 28 Sept 1808

Martha b 13 Jan 1809, chr 9 Apr 1809 (this is a bit of a puzzle considering when your Martha Elizabeth was born  Undecided ... perhaps a different couple?)

Eleanor b 16 SEpt 1810, chr 21 Nov 1810

Mary Ann chr 23 Feb 1814

Thomas b 4 May 1815 chr 26 May 1815

I can't see a marriage between Marth Elizabeth's parents Thomas and Martha.

It's absolutely brilliant Ruskie,

Sheila,  their first born Eleanor Martha (born 1831) doesn't appear on the 1841 census and she names her 4th child Eleanor also, I presume this means that Eleanor Martha has died, I don't suppose you could check your records to see if there's a burial listed for her. I know I'm pushing my luck here, but you did so brilliantly before so I thought I'd be a bit cheeky  Tongue

All the best,
Sue

The burial is possibly Daniel’s father?

Other baptism’s = parents Daniel & Mary Robinson
James -16th August 1783 – burial 24th November 1784; son of Daniel

Ann – 12th September 1787
Mary – 20th October 1789

Hi Sheila,

Yes, this is indeed my family, thanks for the new info, I hadn't ventured any further back as yet so this is all new stuff for me, I'll enter it into my tree.

Thank-you,
