The PRICKETT Sisters of Bedford
« on: Wednesday 01 April 09 18:58 UTC (UK) »

Hi

I am looking for any information, (but especially the burial places) of two sisters that worked as nurses right through the Great War and who both died shortly after it ended.  They were Miss. E. Prickett, died 11/04/19, & Miss. M. Prickett, died 05/04/20, the address I have for them is 58 Oakley,  Bedford. I also know that they had at least two brothers who's initials were A. W. & R. O. respectively.

Thanks

IanC

Hello Ian,

I take it that if you have the exact death dates you may already have the death certificates.  If not FreeBMD gives me Edith Prickett death in June 1919 age 34 Bedford RD 3b/316. Is that one of them ?

If you have death certs, then is 58 Oakley, Bedford the address on both of them ?  This most likely is the village of Oakley, about 3 miles from Bedford. On 1901 census, this address is listed in that village.

On 1911 census index (free lookup) the nearest Edith Prickett born 1885, is one aged 21 in an instution in Henley, Oxfordshire.

Regards
John

Hi John

My info comes from the National Roll Of The Great War, so I don't really have anymore, but now that I know that Oakley is a village that gives me a starting point.

Thanks
