Reynolds - Limerick

Hi, looking for Reynolds family from Limerick. John Reynolds 1817 and Margaret 1821 - 1904 had 3 children John 1856, Elizabeth 1861 and Margaret 1864. Elizabeth married a Patrick Kinnoy (1852-1884) the family then moved to Cheshire. Why can't I find the census records in Ireland? Don't they have them?

We did have a census every ten years in Ireland but unfortunately most were destroyed and 1901 is the first complete census for all Ireland.

There's lots of information on the internet these days- actual records, details of sources available, etc.
