Hello form Canada! I have accessed a census record for 1841 for a Peter Darbyshire/Derbyshire in Knaresborough listed as a wheelwright. It is the only Peter listed with this occupation and the occupation is what is listed on his son John's marriage certificate in 1847. So i feel pretty confidant that I have the right family. The household lists Peter age 45, Elizabeth 50, Bryan 20 a shoe maker, Jane 12, and a Charlotte Halloway 10. There is no son John listed. I found a John age 15, as an Agricultural worker in a household in Knaresborough which could be him. Can someone help me with a couple of issues?
A Peter Darbyshire, wheelwright is listed as a visitor on the 1851 census, I don't have the info as to whom he was visiting. A Peter Darbyshire of Knaresborough dies according to the BMD site in the MAR Quarter of 1852. Again I don't have the info regarding this death. Hoping it may name his son John or even Peter's parents if I'm lucky. Thank you for any assistance you can offer.

thank you Mum44
It now appears Peter and wife Elizabeth were visiting son George at time of 1851 census. Ordering the Death certificate could be the next step....
But the confusing part remains the birth date of John, here he is listed as born 5 Sept 1819, yet I have a copy of my John's marriage to Sarah Strothard in 1847. He is listed as 22 (birth date 1825?) born in Arkendale, the marriage is in the Chapel of Arkendale. Would the IGS be out as much as 6 years? My only possible connection is that Peter (father of John) is listed as a Wheewright on the marriage certificate. And I can only find one Peter as a wheelwright in Arkendale Yorkshire in 1841. Do I have the right man?

Mum 44 Just noticed in the IGS record there are TWO Johns! The second born 10 Oct 1824 which fits in line with the marriage info I have. So it appears this is the right family. The first John died or ?
the Agricultural labourer in Arkendale in the 1841 census listed as 15 (birth date 1826) seems likely it is my John.
You have solved a mystery for me and another brick removed from the "wall"

Thanks for all your help.
At one time someone had sent me an email that they thought Peter's father was "George", which fits with names of his children. They said the father's surname was listed as Derbishire. but that's another story..........
Appreciate all your help and time.
