fordsue,
Yes welcome indeed, and do you think you are connected the people of the Armoury, well-named it would seem seeing as the head of the household was a Sergeant Bridges, in instructor in the volunteer unit of the army there, who seems to have been quite a good shot. I hope you will have a look at that Newspaper site and see what you can find of his activities in Stowmarket.
I have no connection with the Bridges family at all.

Thomas Roberts & Mary Ann Walder 1864 Marriage
|
Hi
I am struggling to find the marriage of a William Mayhew to Elizabeth Bridges. The maiden name is given in their childrens baptism records in Hacheston. "William and Elizabeth Mayhew late Bridges". Elizabeth died in 1840 aged 60 so born about 1780. The Mayhews did move around and I have tried all known parishes of reaidence but to no avail. This would make it easier to locate Elizabeths baptism.

Hi Ben,
Our Bridges originated in the north of the county in the 1500s having stepped over the border from Narfolk in the 1400s.
In 1690 a couple married in Cratfield and from there I have the tree going in all directions.
Our branch ended up in Fram in the early 1700s and pretty much remained there (we shall retire home to Fram one day).
Another branch drifted out towards Lt and Gt Glemham, Marlesford etc. I have most of their details as we 'cousins' from the 1690 marriage all keep in touch (well, those that I know of - guess there are more out there somewhere)
I will check through the information I have on that branch/es of the Bridges to see if I have an Elizabeth marrying William Mayhew.
Blast bor, these are all common ode Suffolk names Bridges, Mayhew, Frorst - dew there are so many on 'em

Hi Ben,
When was your Edward, son of Benjamin and Ann Frost born ? It could well be the same person, and if so it would be great to have some information about them all.
Regards Annette.

Hi Annette
My Edward Frost was born in 1714, son of Benjamin and Ann Frost. He married Elizabeth Crisp on the 24th January 1739 in Hacheston, Suffolk. I am descended from their son Francis Frost who was born in 1753 in Parham.

Hi Ben,
You may have this information, but if you don't, I have found out that the Edward Frost born 1714 who married Elizabeth Crisp (born 1720) on the 24th Jan 1739, are not connected to the Frost Family that I am checking.
I have come across the names but on some has parents as Robert Frost and Elizabeth Crisp. I have also found that Elizabeth died in 1800 and that she had Edward Frost b 1740 and Francis b 1753 and died 1810. This info is on Ancestry.
Cheers Annette.

Hi soldierblue
Are we talking about the William Mayhew who married Elizabeth Packard in 1833 in Hacheston? I descend from their daughter Mary Mayhew born in 1851 in Easton. William died in 1892.

Hello,
Yep - that's the one. Mary's brother David (b1853) is my mother's great grandfather. I've pieced together what I 'think' are the right lines backwards to 1700 on some fronts, but I'm far from certain. I'd especially like to see if you came to the same conclusions as me about the origins of William b1810; he seems very unsure of where he was born!
