Hello:
I found this reference when I was in the Paisley Library 14 months ago:
"Paisley Abbey Churchyard S2:425 Thos. Angel & Steven Gifford & their wives & chn."
Thomas ANGEL married Mary CLARK on 8 May 1818 Paisley Middle and I have 5 children for them:
Thomas Sarah Nicol - married John HOUSTON Daniel the other 2 died in Australia.
Stephen GIFFORD married Margaret CLARK on 2 Apr 1821 Paisley Low and I have 5 children for them:
Isabella Mary Sera ? Margaret Daniel
Please see what you can find.
Thanks.
Fred

Hi Fred
Your Thomas & Steven are buried in lair 425 in Paisley Abbey Churchyard. I wish I;d seen this sooner because I was in Paisley at the weekend visiting my parents and could have got you a pic of the stone if it's still there.
Best Wishes
Ann

Hello Ann,
Thanks for that info. Oh, what a shame. I was in Paisley 14 months ago but only realised a week ago the significance of that note.
Do you know what the 'S2:' means before the Lair number? Section 2 ? South 2?
Do you have or know someone who has access to the book that lists the inscriptions from the Abbey?
Regards,
Fred
