Dewsbury street name
« on: Friday 06 November 09 08:41 UTC (UK) »

I'm having difficulty reading a street name on RG9; Piece: 3411; Folio: 72; Page: 13 (Dewsbury district 9) I think it could be Assman ?? but I'm not sure. Any help appreciated.
The adjacent entry is for Drug Causeway - again difficult handwriting.
Thanks
Dave

Hi Dave ...
It is Asman Square.. I have no idea who Asman is or was but when that area was redeveloped and the new shopping precinct was built it was originally called Asman Precinct later called the Princess of Wales Precinct.
I'll se if I can find out anything at the next Dewsbury Matters meeting.
