Hello, Just been on to SP and did a search from 1801 +/- 5yrs (to accomodate the age 36 on the 1841 census), to 1870 - 1905 and come up with none. Other option is that he went to stay with his eldest son, on being widowed - if he had one. Found that with one of my long lost rellies. I take it you've got Margarets death entry and that he was still alive? Was he down as the informant? You may want to post a list of children if you have, so that another poster with access to census records may be able to help .
Good luck.
Steve :O)

Hi Miska,
Have you checked that the "include unrecorded ages" box on ScotlandsPeople has been checked? This can sometimes bring up searches missed before. I notice there are three John Morrison deaths in West Lothian between 1871 and 1881 (I can't see him in the latter census), all between 0 and 10.
Two are aged 0. I was just wondering if that's what John's age at death has been listed under?

Hello Last post of the day. Just been on to the IGI (www.familysearch.org) It shows 3 children,- all born in Linlithgow to John Morrison and Margaret Wallace. It has him being born 'abt 1799' married 05 Aug 1824, Linlithgow.
Elizabeth Morrison b. 17 Sep, 1827 c. 28 Oct, 1827 John Morrison c. 12 Sep, 1830
James Morrison c. 29 Jul 1838
So, the only option I see.
Marriage and Census search for the children - see where they lived and search those areas. See if father lived with one of them.
Regards, Steve

Hi Miska
In answer to your question I do have a connection to the Morrisons of linlithgow, With regard to find out what happened to Agnes I'm afraid I can't help you there, I have also searched for her and can find no trace although I am convinced I will eventually find her. my g grandfather was also the son of Agnes Morrison.
