naseby baptism look-up
« on: Friday 03 April 09 22:43 UTC (UK) »

hi

Can anyone help? I am looking for details of the baptism of Elizabeth Adnit who, according to the 1851 census was born in naseby between about 1806-1810. In 1851 she was married and living in Kilby in Leicestershire. i would like to find out who her parents were or at least her father.

thanks J : Smiley Smiley

Hi Julia51.

Welcome to Rootschat.  Smiley

There is a likely one on 14 Jun 1808 to Richard & Kesey.

A possible parents marriage.

From the N.M.I.

Hi again Julia

There are 6 other children baptisms.

I have sent them in a P.M.

As the 1st child is baptised in Naseby to Richard and Kesiah
I am sure that the 2 people are Elizabeth's parents.

Hi Sandy

Thank you for the welcome and in particular the very very swift reply! Your information looks a real possibility since Elizabeth and Richard Hulbert called their daughter Kesia, which although I have come across it before is still a rarer name than Elizabeth or Mary. I think you would name your only daughter after your Mum.

It always seems quite difficult to research Northamptonshire compared to Leicester or Nottingham which are my other main areas of interest, partly I guess because the Northamptonshire Bishops transcripts are not, for the most part not on IGI which is at least a useful starting place for family history research. Any tips?

Do you do cross stitch? It looks from your picture that you do. I enjoy this too.

Many thanks again

Hi Julia.

Freereg and Familysearch now list quite a few records for Northamptonshire Folk.

Also we have Alan Clarke, Mary Taylor, Steve Garton,
Northamptonshire Look up Exchange,
Northamptonshire Family History Society with records that
may help (I hope I haven't missed any other main ones) besides
Rushden, Milton Keynes, Towcester etc who have their own web sites
with numerous records also.

I do make cross-stitch, cards, knitting and crochet although
a bit rusty at last 2 now.  Grin Love them all.

I leave cooking and housework to hubby as with Family History don't
have times for them. Pampered or what.
