Trying to find my Grandmothers grave.
« on: Saturday 04 April 09 06:47 UTC (UK) »

I'm trying to find my grans burial plot,, I know she is buried in a family plot in port glasgow cemetery in Scotland  but what i don't know is if it is under her married or maiden name she did not have a headstone or marker my mum even told me she was unsure if her mums name had been added on to the existing headstone. Her name was Pearl Sinclair and she died in 1960 or 61 of tuberculoses when my mum was only three so i of course never met her but i would really love to go and visit her grave and leave some flowers. Could anyone be able to give me some advice on how to find her thanks.

TrinaT

Why not post this on the Renfrewshire and Lanarkshire 'pages' as well.  The expanse of Glasgow takes in both these Counties.   You'll stand a better chance of getting replies there than you will tucked away in this page!

Aye mair questions than answers in a world where the past was a different place - that cannae be revisited!

Family surnames being researched ...
Crawford, Neilson, Lindsay, Reekie, Davidson
Drummond, Pearson, Laing ... will do for starters but there's a whole lot more!

Hi TrinaT

The information you will need to locate the lair.

Pearl Sinclair 1931 - 1960, other surname McCafferty
District: Kilmacolm

I would suggest you contact the Watt Library Greenock.

Hi Trina
Just noticed your post and wondered if you managed to find the grave in Port Glasgow? I have the Port Glasgow cemetary map l(sections/locations) and wouldn't mind looking it up for you the next time I am at the cemetary if you like.
Kind regards
