My family are from this area, I always search in both Worcs and Staffordshire. Where did they all live on the Census John? Best Wishes from Linell.

Before 1844, the lord of the manor for Halesowen had his seat in Shropshire, and so the town was included in Shropshire for his convenience. After 1844, it was moved into Worcestershire. You will find that county boundary changes in the area are quite common, so it's always best to check Worcetsershire, Shropshire, or Staffordshire. You'll also find that baptisms and marriages for the area will be scattered across Dudley, Oldswinford, Cradley, Rowley Regis, and even Clent, as well as Halesowen. Dudley churches in particular, used to offer "cut price" marriages to try and stem the number of "over the broomstick" marriages
Hope that helps
David
