Masonic Lodge in Cupar - 1790's to 1840's
« on: Sunday 05 April 09 10:49 UTC (UK) »

I'm trying to find information on a anscestor that was an active Freemason.  Samuel Payer enlisted in the Fife Fencibles in 1795 and went to Ireland because of the Irish Rebellion.  When the regiment was disbanded in 1803, Samuel Player became the inn-keeper for the Blue Bell Inn (the best inn in town, I've been told!)

The Fife Fencibles had strong ties with the Freemasons and were involved in setting up a Lodge in Londonderry/Derry.

Can the Masonic Lodge in Cupar share any info on Samuel?  Any info would be very welcomed, even if only his date and place of birth.
