SPRATT - Letterkenny
« on: Monday 06 April 09 11:41 BST (UK) »

Hi there, trying to find the following:

Alexander SPRATT and Margaret (nee RINKAN??) born cir 1810 known to have the following children: Elizabeth Ann SPRATT born C 1843 married Henry ALMOND c 1877 in New Zealand but he may be from Ireland.

Mary Jane SPRATT born c1859 Letterkenny and Rebecca SPRATT born C 1861 Letterkenny.

It appears the older girls immigrated to New Zealand in 1877 arriving in NZ in 1878. Elizabeth must have already been here as she married in 1877 in NZ. Trying to find any reference to them and any other siblings in Ireland ALL help appreciated.

dont know if he's connected, in 1846 (Slaters) there's a Spratt minister in Letterkenny :

'Second Presbyterian Meeting House -   Rev. Andrew Spratt, minister'

he's also listed in Letterkenny in 1824 (Pigots)

On Griffiths valuation (http://griffiths.askaboutireland.ie/gv4/gv_family_search_form.php) there's only about 5 Spratt entries for Co. Donegal (1850/60s) - including an Andrew & Alexander

HI Glenda

Just staggered across these postings, trying to figure out the Graham family tree ex Clinton, and top of the page is Margaret nee Rinkon (sp?) and Alexander Spratt, who'se daughters Mary Jane and then Rebecca married Thomas Graham, with a subsequent host of progeny.  Same story I think, and I've only just got this far - I'm Thomas Grahams great grand-son David in Hamilton.  How's progress going?  My mother has just made me aware of the Clinton Graham reunion coming up in November.

Cheers
