Can't find the father of John Elliot

 :-[Hi there, How do I go about finding the father John Elliot  chris.Sept. 1768. marr. c1798 to Betty [Besty, Elizabeth] Taylor brn1774 they had eight children , two of them were brn in Hobkick Rox.  that might be a clue!!!.  That is all the inform I have hoping it will be enough.   Cheers,  Trish

          Using the Scottish naming system John Elliot's parents ought to be William Elliot and Margaret   ?.    Betsy Taylor's parents were very likely John Taylor and Elizabeth   ? .
