Death David MORE 1845-1851
« on: Tuesday 07 April 09 15:46 UTC (UK) »

I am looking for the death/grave inscription of David MORE born about 1820 and working at Logie Farm in Flisk, Fife in the 1841 census.  He married Euphemia WATSON on 18 Feb 1842 in Largo (his parish) and again on 26 Feb 1842 in Dairsie (her parish).

In the 1851 census Euphemia MORE is shown as a widow with 2 sons - George MORE 7 (born in Largo) and David MORE 5 (born in Cameron) living is Dairsie near her father George WATSON 69 and sister Agnes 36.

I thinks his parents were Andrew MORE and Eppie HARDIE.  Could be MOOR or MOORE.
Thanks Smiley

BHunter ...

Here's the only Fife Deaths for MORE in the FFHS records for the 1800's that could fit:

MORE   David   Cameron, North Lambie Letham   14 Nov 1847   OPR
MORE   David   Leslie      29 May 1849   Fife Council Lair Register

Family surnames being researched ...
Crawford, Neilson, Lindsay, Reekie, Davidson
Drummond, Pearson, Laing ... will do for starters but there's a whole lot more!

Thanks - much appreciated.  Probably the Cameron one as his son was born there. Smiley Smiley

Glad to be of assistance.

You should be able to get the Death Registration from ScotlandPeople ... the FFHS information came from there!

North Lambieletham were the farm cottar houses (cottages) for Priorletham in the Cameron Parish of Fife, just a couple of miles to the south of St Andrews and a small-holding in their own right.  Here's a link to a map of the area ...

My late mother was born there in 1912!
