Hi,
Trying to locate on 1841 census the following family : This is all the info I have, sorry.
Parents Evan Evans (tailor/drover) father Ceinor/Keynor/Keinor Evans nee Davies, mother Jane Evans daughter
I know Evan and Ceinor were married Strata Florida June 1815. Daughter Jane was baptised 24/9/1815.
Jane died 22.7.1870 aged 58 - So on that, she would've been born circa 1812 - would show about in her 20's on 1841. Don't know of any siblings. If it helps, on Evan and Ceinor's marriage - it states he's from Caron Uwch Clawdd and Keinor Davies from Strata Florida.
Thanks

only Cainor Evans or similar I can see in Cardiganshire
1841 Pantybryn, Blaenpennal, Llanddewibrefi HO107/1376/9 folio 9 pg 12 Cainor Evans 55 Jane Jones 3 both born in county
Bear in mind that on the 1841 there are no family relationships, no places of birth and ages over 15 are rounded down to the nearest 5 years. And there are pages & pages of Evan Evans.

Forgot to ask. Where was Jane baptised? Can't see her baptism on the IGI.

Thank you for your replies
Evan Evans!! Sorry about that!
Jane Evans nee Davies was baptised Strata Florida Parish 24 September 1815 Jane, daughter of Evan and Ceinor Evans, Pontrhydfendigaid.
I thought Ceinor/Kainor/Keynor was an usual name and perhaps easier to find - not so! If only she married no Evans, Jones, Davies etc!!
I just can't find this family and therefore find Evan and Ceinor's parents. What a dead end!
I think that is her death entry because Ceinor Evans died 12th October 1849.
Did they not put the names of parents/fathers on marriage certificates pre1837? Evan and Ceinor were married 16th June, 1815.

No, names and occupations of fathers started with civil registration in July 1837. Before that, the names of witnesses are your best clue. It's not easy with the common Welsh names.
IGI coverage isn't great in the area, and what there is is taken from BTs, so there can be things that are missing.
You need access to the parish registers. Fancy a trip to Aberystwyth? Or you could join the Dyfed Family History Soc and use their services http://www.dyfedfhs.org.uk/ Or make a very good friend in the record office.
