Hello,
Griffiths Valuation was much earlier than your dates - 1848-1864 so you may not find them then.
best wishes

Me again,

There is a James Kelly, John St in Griffiths but as I said it is earlier- seems to be 1848-1851.

The date given for Griffith's Valuation in St. John (Within) Parish, Waterford is 1851. There is a James Kelly in John's Lane off John Street.

I wouldn't worry about difference between Johns and John's as apostrophes are sometime left out of place names but it is off John Street according to Griffith's.

In days when people in towns rented their houses they did tend to move quite frequently for various reasons (behind in rent, found better house, cheaper rent, etc.) often in the same area to be near their work so it could be that your family lived in several different house in or near John's Lane.

Hi again,
full age usually means over 21 yrs.
Was Elizabeth a widow in 1901?

Have you looked at Family Search Pilot - go to Family Search as normal and then use the dropdown menu 'Search Records' to get 'Record Search Pilot'.

I have used the dropdown menu 'All events' for 'Deaths/burials'. If you enter Waterford for place, again there is a list- Waterford, Ireland' is shown.

There are lists of civil registration deaths. If you know the year of his birth/approximate, there may be a death there. I am assuming that Waterford is the registration district although other districts are also shown.

If there are any suitable ones, click on the name and the appropriate references are shown. You could then apply for a certificate if you so wish.

That's how I have searched for anything anyway- I know people have difficulty in searching on this particular site at times and Aghadowey may well know an easier way. See hwo you go on.  Wink

I knew aghadowey would have a much simpler way  Grin

Just noticed that she has put this link on another thread:

http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#p=collectionDetails;t=searchable;c=1408347

It takes you to Irish BMD civil registrations online.

(thanks aghadowey  Wink)
