Mooney - Co Donegal
« on: Friday 24 April 09 21:42 UTC (UK) »

I am looking for information on Charles Mooney, born Co Donegal. His birth, death, parents, his siblings?

Charles Mooney md Margaret McDaid. Their siblings are Rose Theresa, John, Nellie, Daniel, Patrick, Edward, Charles, Michael, and Laurence. They were all b. in Co Donegal.

Margaret McDaid Mooney b. 1884 Glenkeen, Culdaff, Co Donegal, d. 1954 Glenkeen, Co Donegal, and is buried at St. Mary's Church, Bocan, Culdaff, Co Donegal.

I would suspect that Charles Mooney would also be buried at St. Mary's with his wife?

His daughter, Rose Theresa Mooney b 1899 Carndonagh, Co Donegal, Ireland, immigrated to US in 1921 and md John Joseph McNally (from Lurgan, Co Armagh). Charles Mooney's sons Daniel and Patrick also immigrated to Boston.

Would appreciate any information on Charles Mooney.

Thank you! Becky

Hi Becky,

My name is Maureen Muir, maiden name Mooney. My father's name is Michael Mooney he is 83 years old and stays in Scotland. Dad came from Carndonagh, Co Donegal and his mother's name was Nellie, she was my gran. Granny Nellie had brothers Charles, Eddie, John and Lawrence who I new very well as my mother often spoke about them. My mum often spoke about the rest that went to Boston. This could be the same family. I have not told dad as he would get very excited. We go back and forward to Carn often and have alot of family there.

Hey Maureen,

Sure sounds like we're talking about possiboly the same family. I'd like to Private Message you with my info but, because we are both new members, that is not possible. We each have to have (3) posts to activate our PM capabilities.

Post 2 more messages and I'll do the same - then we can PM.

Becky

Hi Becky,

Spoke to dad last night and we are talking about the same family, Dad said Rose married John McNally and also Pat and Dan immigrated to Boston. My dad is the last one of the family left.. It is a long story so we can e-mail and I can fill you in with the gaps.  Off to work..........

Hi Maureen,

Send me another message and then I'll be able to private message you. I really want to get the family members correct (dob, dod, marriage, children, etc!). And I'll certainly share info.

Thanks,
Becky
