Hello. I'm researching servicemen who were connected with my area (Poole, Dorset, UK) and I'm particularly interested in this soldier. I would dearly love to get a copy of a photograph of him. I believe that his descendants live in New Zealand. If anyone has come across a photo or can put me in touch with them, then I would be exceedingly grateful. Thanks Regards. Morten

Also - Information regarding  Green Road/Pound Street  & Waterloo Iron Foundry (Poole).

Coombe Keynes & Tolpuddle (Dorset)

Family names - Loveless (Dorset & London), Keeping (Poole) , Hooper (Poole & Corfe Castle), Furmage (Corfe Castle), Harris (Surrey/ London), Kemp (Cambs.), Pepper ( Cambs.).

Theres 7 Algernon James listed on Genes Reunited a couple would fit the timeline for this lad...One born late 1880s in Warminster thats not far from you??

Algernon James, as you can see from my tree, is not actually a relation of mine. His sister, May Eveline 1892, married my grandmother's brother Harry Coward in 1919 in Poole after the James family came to the town
May (always called Bloss) and Harry had one child, Peggy Julia in 1921, first cousin to my father.
I didnt have a lot of contact with Bloss or Peggy until after Bloss had died and then Peggy and her husband needed caring for.(Their only daughter Susan had died young). Peggy never mentioned Algernon who would have course been her uncle but she did say she had family in Fiji but I could never get the facts from her ( dementia) I know that her family home in Stanley Green Rd was called Suva so now I understand the connection

When did he go to Fiji and does he have family over there?

Peggy has 2 surviving granddaughters and 2 grt granddaughters
but I dont have any contact with them
Peggy is deceased
