Does anyone have access to any Parish Records for Normanton on Soar, St. James?

Any additional info on the following marriages would be greatly appreciated.

4th June 1710 - Joseph Gaze and Ann Brewin
7th Jan 1752 - Joseph Gaze and Sarah Henson
8th Jul 1789 - Joseph Gaze and Sarah Cox
30th May 1803 - Joseph Gaze and Amy Whittle

Hi

Where did you get the information from?

Normanton on Soar marriages are coverd in the Phillimore marriage index and also on the Notts FHS CD, but the first two are not on either

The only additional information on the marriage 8 July 1789 is that they married by licence.

The marriage 30 May 1803 states the surname as GAGE not Gaze both in the phillimore & the Notts CD married to a Emy Whittle

Hi Carol,

Thanks for looking, the sources are questionable - old notes from a long dead Uncle. Now I look again I see a scribble in the margin against the 1752 one - 'Marriages at Sileby 1568 to 1837 vol 3'!!

Unfortunately Gaze seems to be a name that is frequently mis-transcribed becaus of the old fashioned z with a curly tail, I think Garza has to be the weirdest I've come across so far!
