Looking at the index costs nowt  Wink

A transcript is about a £1,and a full image around £3
Far cheaper than the petrol to drive to Kew to view it there for free  Wink

It's all relative.

Or you could wait till later this year when they say they will have it on a subscription basis.

Carol

Added- don't forget when the 1901 was introduced a few years back(eventually) that cost £5 to view a census page.

Hi

Yes - it is expensive but if you have a lot of lookups - it works out cheaper if you buy the £24.95 package for which you get 280 credits

That works out at about 89p for a transcript and £2.67 for the image

Every little bit helps!!

Yes, I took the  £24.67 package and it went in about half an hour. Shocked
I still have loads of research to do - with Aunts, Uncles, cousins etc. and I haven't even started on my husbands side yet.
It is very useful to see if there where any other relatives living in the street or a nearby house etc. like you can with the Ancestry subscription. I found a Gt grandmother that way under a different name having re-married. I still think this is very expensive and would certainly never have been able to afford £5 for a page.

I agree it is all relative and for the poorer people then it is very expensive to see a public document! Embarrassed
