Logierait MI for James Macdonald died early 1800s
« on: Tuesday 02 June 09 23:53 UTC (UK) »

I am trying to trace the parents of James Macdonald born about 1774 in  the Logierait area, he married Janet Connachar from Logierait on  8/6/1792

Because I do not know the names of the parents I am unable to find and pick the correct parents of James because in my search there are more than one set to choose from, I was hoping that there may be a gravestone in the local burial area's that would mention James Macdonald son of -----? who was married to Janet Connacher, that way I would know the name of the parents

I can't find the death of James so I presume he died before 1855.
His family were all born in Logierait so I presume he died there.

Is there any one who can help with MI details or advice.

Thanks
Colin.

Hi Colin,

Details of which of the cemeteries in that area have MIs available and contact details for the council office holding the interment records:

Hope this helps

Can't see him in the Logierait MI's.
Sometimes the 'fermtowns' the family was born/married in are a good guide as to which parents are relevant
Use the 18th century Stobie Map in the NLS for reference or let me know the family/fermtown options.
