I believe all the Barrahs are related- I have connections in many generations and also direct descent through my gggrandmother Alice Barrah of Freystop.
Alice's father John Barrah married a Rachel Cousins in Freystrop early 1800. Rachel died and then John married Sarah Rees of Freystrop. Alice was born about 1826
|

Thank you for your reply. Apologies for not answering you before now.
I hadn't realized that the BARRAHs and COUSINs were related so thank you for that. It might even help in my quest in finding the connection between the GRUNNAHs of Freystrop and those of Hubberston. You just never know.

I have just "discovered" that the Rev. James Hughes Thomas and his first wife Martha had the name Cousens in three of their children:
Joseph Couzens Thomas b 8/3/1816 Moleston, but he says Slebech; Alfred Couzens Thomas bp 17/7/1822 Moleston; and Eliza Couzens Thomas bp 14/5/1827 Narberth.

You never know! One clue seems to lead on to something else in this game.
I only discovered this, as when Sarah Thomas, nee Rees died, she named a W.A. Burton, as her grandson.
My research tells me that he would have been Eliza Couzens Thomas' son. She would have been only 3 when Sarah married her dad, the Rev. James Hughes Thomas. Thus, I imagined she only knew Sarah as her mother.
Anyway, your contact may tell me that the Rev.'s first wife may have been a Martha Couzens and that is why three kids have this as their second name!

I am the person whom Orielbenfro mentioned as having fully researched a Cozens family in Pembroke Dock. They have no connection with those of Freystrop having transferred as shipwrights from the Admiralty dockyard in Plymouth, Devon 1822/1823.
Sorry but I am unable to help with those from Freystrop.

Hi Paterchurch and thank you for your response.
You Cozens didn't have relations called William Ivemey, by any chance. He did likewise, that is shifted from Plymouth to Pembroke Docks. But then I imagine many families did the same, if the Pembroke Docks were established around that time.
