I'm looking for any information on a John Buckland, who married Anne Dawson at St John's College, Oxford in 1733 (IGI).
I have no further details of who they were, where they came from, or whether or not they had any children. There are no children listed on the IGI, as far as I can tell.
I'm trying to rule them out as being the parents of children born to John and Anne Buckland in Langley, Bucks, after this date.

For another time - think in terms of the local FHS and their resources!
In this case, Oxfordshire FHS www.ofhs.org.uk has a database lookup service - the Search Services.
Compliments of Oxfordshire FHS, here you are from our marriage index:
Oxfordshire Marriage Index - Husbands [1538-1837] Search carried out on 12/04/2009 from an Index dated 04/04/2008 using the Search Services of the Oxfordshire Family History Society

Thanks for this Wendy.
It has answered my query perfectly.
The Oxfordshire FHS was going to be my next port of call!
Can you tell me if it was common for people in the 1700's to marry in one of the College churches, if neither of them were from the city of Oxford?
Kind regards

Does anybody have any information on this Anne Dawson from Stanton Harcourt?
The baptisms from this parish have yet to be transcribed by the Oxfordshire FHS.

Don't have the registers myself but my copy of 'Oxfordshire Parish Registers and Bishops' Transcripts - Seventh Edition' by Colin Harris (which, incidentally, I wouldn't be without) states that the registers for Stanton Harcourt are transcribed and copies are available at Oxfordshire Record Office, the Society of Genealogists, the Bodleian Library, Oxfordshire Studies, Witney Library and the incumbent. The coverage is Baptisms 1567-1985, Marriages 1570-1969, and Burials 1569-1970.

Taking into account the local dialect I would say she's the one.

That's great!
Thanks to you all.
I'm still not sure as to why they would have married at St John's College, Oxford, when the usual custom was for a couple to marry in the bride's parish church. I'm trying to establish where John Buckland came from before living in Langley in Bucks. Did John Buckland's family originally come from Oxford, as I can find nothing on them in Bucks prior to this date?
I've found a marriage on the IGI extracted from the Oxfordshire Marriage Transcripts, for Humphrey and Ann Dassen in Stanton Harcourt in 1707, but this is 3 years after the birth date given by Toby for Ann, of 1704. Would they have married after they had children?

Presumably, the Humphrey Dawson (Dassen) that married Ann in 1701, was also one of the children of Humphrey Dawson and Joan Smart from Northmoor.
I've found Anne (1678), Richard (1683) and Frances (1686) on the IGI, but no Humph.
