Hi,
It,s from the 1901 cencus RG13/4903
It,s been 15+ years since i set foot in Kirkby S, but looking at the attached,it looks like they have come down Silver St, then turned into North Rd,
Looking on Multimap airiel there appears to be "yards" behind the buildings,

Regards Brian

Brian,

As far as I can find out the name Dickinson's Yard isn't in current use. However, I have an idea where it would have been - further details in a PM and have been asking around in the hopes that someone will know exactly.

Hi Brian,

This is the corner of Silver Street and North Road. The buildings to the left of the Masonic Hall (previosly the Primitive Chapel have been demolished but there was probably a yard there. As you will be able to see from the photo there are two yards to the right. More detailed photos to follow.

New stone added with name showing the change of use from Chapel to Hall and picture of buildings to right of former Chapel showing where the yards were.

Interesting.  I have often walked along that bit to the Co-op.   Next time I am up there I shall peer in those yards!  My husband's ancestor was vicar in the C of E church there for many years and we still have relations in the area.

Hi,

That chippy is now the Coast to Coast - features on television whenever anyone walks Wainwright's Coast to Coast.
