John Burgoyne, Newbridge, ca. 1852
« on: Monday 06 April 09 04:31 UTC (UK) »

Has anyone come across a mid-19th century John Burgoyne and his family in Co. Kildare?  He is thought to have been a civil engineer.  London census evidence indicates that his daughter Maria Theresa Burgoyne was born at Newbridge,  Co. Kildare,  ca. 1852.

I would much appreciate details of any baptismal record that may survive -- probably but not definitely protestant -- and news of any other sightings.

To avoid duplication it would be best if any responses to this request could be posted in a thread that is already running on the Northumberland board about Maria's sonorously named sister,  Cleopatra Cecilia Burgoyne (b. 1844).  Accordingly I shall immediately lock this cross-reference topic.

Here is the link:  http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,371267.0.html .  (The reference to Newbridge appears in reply no. 23.)
