Gammie family « on: Sunday 09 August 09 04:00 UTC (UK) »
I'm trying to trace missing generation of my husband's family. I've been able to trace from the USA to New Deer, Scotland.
I have statutory death record for my husband's 2xG grandparents. This is where the problem begins. My husband's 2xg gmother was Janet Gammie Gammie b 1805 Marnoch, Banff, Scotland on Janet's SDR 225/000021 her parents are listed as Alexander Gammie and Ann S Smith.
I've been trying to trace William Gammie b 11 jul 1700 Marnoch, Banff, Scotland married Janet Morrison and their son Alexander b abt 1735 married Jannet White and their son Alexander b abt 1765. If anyone could supply a lead, I would very much appreciate it.

There do seem to have been quite a few Alexander Gammie's born in Banff over the years. Have you viewed the Parish records? Do they give the parents names on the marriage entries?
Janet was from a large family: Parents Alexander Gammie and Ann Smith, all born/christened Marnoch.
