Hi,
I am looking for any information on my Great Uncle as named above born in 1888 Barrowby Lincolnshire.
He joined the army in 1908 and was discharged in 1916 and he gave an address as No4 Brewsters Yard,Parliament Street,Newark...I am trying to find out what happened after this time..Did he marry and when did he die??..Does anyone know anything about Brewsters Yard as I cannot find this mentioned anywhere.Thanks Terry

The only marriage I could find in Newark between a William H Brown and Harriet Scraton took place June 1925 Newark 7b/1185, you would need the certificate to verify it is your William. No children in Newark for this couple. Just too common a name to blindly search Iam afraid. Have you seen his military records? Iam asuming it is where you got his address. I have never heard of Brewsters yard- which doesnt mean much as there are so many little hidden yards in the town.Many of them demolished. Iam going to be in Newark on Saturday and will pop down and see if I can locate anything likely.
