Hi,
I was just about to send off for the death certificate of a possible ancestor then read another post on here and there seems to be 2 possibles!
This is not too bad, but I was wondering if anyone could do a lookup just to check there aren't any more?!
My ancestor's name was Joseph Clark(e) and he died sometime between 1833 and 1841 in Nottingham. I don't know how old he was.
So far I have one registered on 26/12/1837 and another on 21/02/1837!
Are there anymore before I send off for these?!
Thanks.

Hi Burto,

For certificates for deaths after Sept 1837, you can either ask the local register offices to check for known details before you buy, usually they will not charge for this if you are buying the cert.  List of Register Offices at http://www.ukbmd.org.uk/genuki/reg/regoff.html

or you can order online at the GRO and ask for a reference check.  This costs £3 which is included in the £7 cert fee if correct.  Here's the link to the online GRO site for certificate ordering:

Kind regards

Hi Burto… Smiley

There are these mentioned on the NFHS index in the time frame you mention.

Burial Nottingham St Mary
Joseph Clark – 9th April 1834, aged 71, abode Baloon Ct

Burial Radford St Peter
Joseph Clarke – 25th October 1836; aged 1 mth, abode Radford

Burial Nottingham St Mary
Joseph Clarke – 21st February 1837, aged 41, abode Clare St

Burial Nottingham St Mary
Joseph Clarke – 26th December 1837, aged 33, abode Garners Hill

Hopefully these will give some help in determining if one of these is your Joseph.

Regards,
Sheila.

Hi guys,
Thank you so much for that!
Does anyone know if Baloon Ct, Clare St or Garners Hill, were anywhere near Pear Street/Turncalf Alley, Holland Street, West Side (near Beck Street) or Washington Street?
My Joseph was definately living in Washington Street in 1830, and his family were at Westside in 1841.
Thanks.
