Louisa was the daughter of John & Ann TIBBLES. She was born in Northampton in 1888, the 6th of 11 children. Her brothers and sisters were all baptised at St. Sepulchre Church and in order of birth. I've double checked the entries but Louisa is nowhere to be found.
Did she just get missed out or can anyone find her for me in another parish, please?
Many thanks,
Diana

Hi Pennie
Many thanks indeed for your reply. I don't have Louisa's birth certificate but it probably wouldn't help much as she was born in Northampton like her brothers and sisters. The family were living in Regent Square when the child prior to Louisa was born and then at the baptism of the child after her their address was in Regent Street. Later addresses were in Grafton Street and St. George's Street, so they seem to have very much stuck to the same area. John Tibbles was a chimney sweep so that may well have been his patch.
It is a good suggestion that Louisa could have been baptised in either Piddington or Hinckley. Next time I go to the Record Office in Northampton I will take another look at the Piddington Baptism Register as I didn't know about the Tibbles connection last time I checked the relevant years.
In the meantime I will post a query on the Leicester boards in case she may have been baptised in Hinckley.
Best regards,
Diana

Hi Diana.
Nice to see you here again.
I did not post before as the Northampton Library is closed till May and as I don't often go to the Record Office I could not offer to look at other parishes.
Another Church that comes to mind in Northampton Town is St. Andrews, It was built in 1870 so possible.

Hi Sandy
I've just spent the afternoon and early evening looking things up for another Rootschatter, with mixed results, so it was nice to find a reply for me when I came upstairs after snatching a quick bite to eat! It's really nice to hear from you again and I hope things are going well for you.
I had four days in Northampton a few weeks ago and I've been so busy ever since that I'm still sorting through everything I found out! Louisa Tibbles was one of my few "failures".
Thank you for the suggestion of St. Andrews. Despite growing up in the town I have to admit that my knowledge of where all the churches are and how the parish boundaries fit together is extremely sketchy and it doesn't help when "new" churches come along! I was hoping I would find my particular Jones/Hakes branch at St, Matthew's, but it turned out it wasn't built when they first moved from Piddington. The advice from the Record Office was to try Kingsthorpe or Abington Churches but I ran out of time.
So, now my list has St. Andrews added to Kingsthorpe and Abington and that's just for starters. I daresay that I'll have to work my way through all the Northampton parishes eventually...
Best wishes,
Diana

Hi Diana.
Nice to know your tree is progressing nicely on most branches.
Our ancestors would often baptise in more than one church, so as you say yourself it maybe Louise was baptised at another Church in the vicinity or if monies was short not at all.
Here are dates of most of the Parish Churches starting dates for Parish Records on the N.R.O. Quite a few I expect you already know.
The first 4 are the oldest.
All Saints (Town) Baps: 1559-1967 Marr: 1559-1987 Burs:1559-1992
St. Giles (Town) Baps: 1559-1977 Marr: 1559-1987 Burs: 1559-1943
St. Sepulchre (Town) Baps: 1571-1978 Marr: 1566-1982 Burs: 1571-1937
St. Peter (Town) Baps: 1578-1996 Marr: 1578-1983 Burs: 1578-1963
Then others near the Town
St. Katherine (off Regent Sq area) Baps: 1841-1944 Marr:1859-1946 Burs: 1841-1927
St. Edmund (on Wellingborough Road) Baps: 1852-1977 Marr: 1852-1978 Burs: 1852-1970
St. Andrews (nr St George's St) Baps: 1870-1965 Marr: 1879-1965
St. Lawrence (in Deal St) Baps: 1877-1975 Marr: 1879-1976
St. Michaels (off Kettering Road nr Racecourse) Baps: 1880-1958 Marr: 1883-1952 Burs: 1883-1946
Others further out.
Holy Trinity (nr Kingsthorpe Hollow) Baps: 1849-1996 Marr: 1909-1992
St. James (on the Harlestone Rd) Baps: 1866-1938 Marr: 1873-1955 Burs: 1911-1973
St Mary (Far Cotton) Baps: 1875-1993 Marr: 1886-1991

St. Matthews (High Church, Kingsley Area) Baps:1889-1991 Marr: 1893-1984
Christ Church (on Wellingborough Road) Baps:1898-1935 Marr: 1907-1946 Burs: 1918-1961 Sandy

Hi Sandy
Many thanks indeed - you can always be relied on to come up trumps! That list of churches is gold dust and I should think anyone else reading it will agree.
Best regards as always,
Diana

Hi Diana.
We all help here and you have been a great help to me also.
I do have in amongst endless pieces of paper a street map if ever I find it that helps with Church/Parishes.
