I obtained a large part of the Kilbride parish tithe applotment records for Clara townland, its about 200 plots of land with occupiers' names.
I would have loved to make copies of the originals but the microfilm copy machine wasn't working so I wrote everything down on paper and will use it like a census for Clara. Anyone looking for someone in this area, I have their name, property, and quantity of land.

Some of my Ancestors are from slightly to the east of that area on the 1840s - Lemaghan / Leabeg & Belair. If you have a minute could you see if any were based (or originated) in the Kilbride Civil Parish... the surnames are Cathcart & Wilson

There is a John Carty with a house on Main st. and a James Carty with a house on New Street also but no Cathcarts.
I wish the library microfilm machine was working, I would've copied the entire parish!

Shane, for your records, there's also a "Mrs. Wilson" with a house and garden on Stirabout Row that I passed over. Next to the entry it has "Brewery". I'm not sure if the house was in a brewery or it was next to one.
