Jemima McDonald born 1889(orphan). Help please
« on: Thursday 13 October 05 10:13 UTC (UK) »

I am trying to trace the birthplace and family of Jemima McDonald who was born in Ireland 1889.

Her mother and father were Elizabeth Jack McDonald m.s.Alexander and her father was James McDonald.

She was put in an orphanage in Ireland after her parents death and her brother James(Jimmy) moved to Glasgow to live with an Aunt/Uncle.

Jemima later moved to Glasgow.

I have found a reference to an Elizabeth J and a James McDonald who lived in Drumaleet, Aghagallon, co Antrim from the 1901 census but I do not know if this is Jemima's parents/relatives.  I have no reference to the birth of Jemima.  I am carrying out my research via the net.  If anyone has any information I would be very grateful.

Thanks

Lorraine

I am trying to trace the birthplace and family of Jemima McDonald my great grandmother, born in Northern Ireland 1889.

All I know about her parents is that her mother and father were Elizabeth Jack McDonald m.s.Alexander and her father was James McDonald a mercantile clerk.

She was put in an orphanage in Ireland after her parents died and her older brother James(Jimmy) moved to Glasgow to live with an Aunt/Uncle.

Jemima later moved to Glasgow and married Andrew Lindsay

I have found a reference to an Elizabeth J and a James McDonald who lived in Drumaleet, Aghagallon, co Antrim from the 1901 census but I do not know if this is Jemima's parents.  I have no reference to the birth of Jemima. I don't know if it makes any difference but I'm pretty sure they were Protestants.

If someone could look up the births register I would be most grateful
Kiss
Thanks
