I have a baptism on the IGI that I am interested in - but it's member submitted which makes me a little nervous. I wondered if anyone has access to Wakerley PRs and can take a look for me.
It is Elizabeth Cox, bap 1776 - no date given. Parents given as Thomas Cox & Sarah Goodliffe.
I am also interested in what appears to be Elizabeth's marriage also in Wakerley, 29 Jan 1810 to Thomas Butteress.
Any help in confirming these records and any details they may contain would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Louise

Thanks Sandy, that's great to have confirmation, those member submitted in the IGI sometimes seem almost fictional!
I found them in a census and Elizabeth is from Fineshade - so the marriage is great. Looks as if the birth isn't her though - my Elizabeth Cox would be about 15 years younger. I wonder, can you have a look see if there are any Elizabeth Cox baptisms closer to 1790. Really appreciate it,
Louise

I have just started researching the COXs of Wakerley and have visited the churchyard today.
Do you have any connection to any of the following?
Thomas Cox b.c 1815 in Wakerley, married Eliza, died 1865.
Robert Cox bap 1806 in Wakerley son of Robert Cox & Sarah ?
Any information gratefully received.

Almost all I know about the Cox family is included in this thread!
My Elizabeth appears to have been the dtr of James Cox & Susannah Culpin who marry in Wakerley, 2 aug 1779.
I don't know if she had any siblings. You - perhaps someone will check the register for you for these two births. Sorry I can't help.
good luck, Louise
