Hi All,
Could some one please tell me if there was a place called Drayton in Sussex? There seems to be some confusion as to the birth place of this relative Harriet Barnett Abt 1837 .On Harrietts Australian death certificate it says Sussex. Her parents were James Barnet and Louisa Scall?It also states James occupation as Ships Captain.
I have found a marriage for a James Barnett and Louisa Seale on IGI at St Peter the Great or Subdeanery of Chichester on 19 july 1833.
Any help would be much appreciated

From the SMI.
The date is correct.Louisa`s surname was Scale & of the parish.
Extra info,James was from Mundham.I looked at the map.Mundham is in Norfolk.

North & South Mundham are close to Chichester, probably there rather than Norfolk.

Would the marriage record show Jame's occupation?
If this is the right couple how would I find any children born before 1837?
Besides IGI. For someone living outside the UK?
