Looking for information on family of John Burton and Ann Garner,John was coachman at Elvaston Castle,they wed at Elvaston on 29 Jan.1856,John was born at Castle Donington abt.1836

Hi,

Do you have their marriage certificate giving fathers' names and occupations? Which census lookups do you need, if any?

This could be John in 1841

1841 HO107 Piece 594 Book 23 Folio 20 Page 13
Castle Donington, Leicestershire
BURTON
Ann       47  not b. Leicestershire
Joseph      14
John       6
Sophia       4
all children born Leicestershire

That is the right John Burton,i do not have marriage certificate,but i am reasonably sure Anns parents were David Garner and Rebecca Hackett,who wed at Elvaston on 26 Jan.1834,i was hoping to trace children of John and Ann after 1901 census,i have twelve children for them,the eldest Samuel died 1899,i know a few worked at Elvaston castle,Joseph moved to London,Sarah to Suffolk,Walter was in Shardlow 1901,but have nothing much on others

So you are wanting to trace forwards from 1901.  Have you had a look at the 1911 census for any of them?

Yes,Walter still at Shardlow,i have only looked at the free trace,putting in Burton born Thulston and Elvaston,some of the girls have come up un-married,one at Sherbourne,one in London,Joseph had moved to Newbury Berks.mother Ann still at Elvaston i assume,shes down as Shardlow,but these will be districts not actual place of residence and i have three at Derby,who i have nothing on
