Fairweather, Desborough 1942

I have a letter from my fathers cousin dated Nov 1942.  His address at the time was;
Hut No.3, Site No. 5 c/o Fairweather, Desborough, Northants.  
He was a labourer and he died some 2 months later at Kettering Hospital from a fever.  My father believes he may have been involved in work building airfields(?)

I cannot find any reference to Fairweather on maps etc, internet or the like - any help anyone can give regarding the location would be appreciated.

Sounds as if Fairweather is a company not a place. Perhaps Fairweather were building the airfield.

Try asking at the local  history centre, which you can do by email.

Welcome to Rootschat Mindy.  Smiley

It could be where my Hubby and I with the Astronomy Group go and freeze in the
winter on the B576 which is the old Desborough Aerodrome.

Brilliant for looking at the night sky.

It is on the back road from Lamport going North East and the actual road leads
to Draughton.
