Thomas SWANNELL marriage at Padbury ?
« on: Saturday 18 April 09 08:30 UTC (UK) »

Hello,

I am looking for a marriage entry of Thomas Swannell chr 9/6/1673 Padbury to an Ann(e) ? I'd really like to know her family name & any other info if possible.
It could be at Padbury or nearby Little Horwood

They had children; Edward 1697, Thomas 1699, Mary 1701 & John 1704; & Thomas (senior) died in 1705.

Any other relevant info on Swannells in Padbury/Horwood would be welcome.

Thanks John

   Hi John ......

  1685    ?      ?  Edward Swannells son buried
1679 Abigale Swannell daughter of John buried 7 Nov   Avid made 13 Nov for buried in woollen
   1679 William Swannell buried  20th of ?   ?
1700 John Swannell  lab buried June 2nd

1684 Thomas s/o John Swannell bap  4th Jan
1699 Richard s/o William & Mary Swannell bap April 10
   1700 Sarah d/o William & Mary bapt March 23

I only really looked around the marriage date for these entries but can have a look next time I go as I ran out of time to look at Horwood.

No worries though I will pop it in my book and check for you.

hello Tazzie,

I meant to say thanks for this before now.

I am researching this Swannell line as I think that Thomas Swannell chr 1699 Little Horwood (son of the aforementioned Thomas & Anne) married Judith Crouch on 16/3/1722 at Felmersham Beds. Their son William married Martha Wright, & then their daughter Martha was the first wife of my gt-gt-gt-grandfather Thomas Partridge of Sharnbrook.

I look forward to any further information when you get time

thanks & regards
John

   Hi John .....

He maybe a Swannell but he is ducking me on this one ...pardon the pun!
I cannot see a marriage in Padbury or Little Horwood. It maybe worth looking at Great Horwood and Adstock as they are so close . The library had settlement papers indexed but the earliest Swannell is 1759 Emberton to Hardmead..George & Rebecca.
I will add this to my Bucks list to check out with Bucks fhs.

  Hi John .....

Failed with that idea as well as could not see him at all. Great Horwood not the easiest to read as all Latin.

I will check Bucks fhs when I go if you can hold on till July!

  Hi  John...

Went to Bucks fhs open day and asked for a blanket record search on a marriage for a Thomas Swannell. We tried every combination but nothing at all came up for a Thomas on the database that they hold........ mind you also visiting from Mars would be my John & Penelope Hayles. So I am still fishing for them.Mind you brought 2 books on a whim and have had a couple of surprises with some Methodist baptisms.

  Have a great weekend.

I don't know if there's a link but I have Owen SWANNELL (1804/5 in Rickmansworth - 1882) , son of William. Owen was a baker. He married Sarah HOLINSHEAD in Watford in 1833. They had 2 children, John and Maria.
