Hi Frank,
have you tried contacting the Wigtown Registry office.
County buildings,Wigtown,Newton Stewart,Wigtownshire DG8 9JH
tel.01776/888439.
You could also try the fee pay site scotlandspeople
www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk
If you order his death certificate then this would confirm date of death.
If you post on the Wigtownshire page you should find a kind fellow rootschatter
who maybe near the grave yard,
kind regards,Billy.

Hi Frank,
if you also post on the Wigtownshire page you just might get someone locally you could ask to look in the cemetery,
Billy.

Hi Frank,

Was your John the son of Robert McCreadie a church officer and Mary Kain, and married to Annie Strachan? If so, he died 19th July 1905 in West C?rennan, Kirkcowan. The death is registered as "McCredie" so perhaps why you've had no results on SP. Smiley

Much appreciated for your assistance it closes another loop for me.
